Opting out of the LGPS

If you have decided that you no longer wish to contribute to the Staffordshire Pension Fund, please print, complete and return the "Opt Out" form below. Before doing so, please make sure that you have read the notes on page 1 which explain all of the pension and dependant cover benefits you will no longer be entitled to if your opt out.

This form should be returned to your employer's payroll section, or the Pension Services Section if you are an employee of Staffordshire County Council. Pension contributions will normally stop being deducted from the beginning of the next pay period after your form has been received.

If you also wish to apply for a refund of your pension contributions and meet the conditions for this, shown on page 2 of the above form, you should also complete and return the bank details payment form below:

If you decide to opt out of the scheme you may be able to rejoin at a later date and if you wish to do this, please contact Pension Services
