Paternity leave

Statutory Paternity Leave of two weeks is granted for the purposes of caring for a child or for the child’s mother. If you are granted additional paternity leave you will continue to pay pension contributions on any pay you receive during this period.

However, any period of unpaid additional paternity leave will not count for pension purposes unless you elect to pay additional pension contributions (APCs).
