How to activate your account

  • You can watch our registration tutorial video below for further assistance on how to register for My Pension Portal. This 3 minute video provides a step-by-step guide to help you create your account:

Register for My Pension Portal as a New User

Registration

  • Go to the My Pension Portal home page on our website.
  • Select the first option - Access my pension portal.
  • Click on the "Create an account" button.
  • Tick the check box to accept the privacy notice and select the "Let's begin" button to continue.
  • Complete the form to confirm your details (Surname, Date of birth and National Insurance number). Click on the 'Submit' button to proceed.

Note: how you activate your account will depend on whether or not we already hold an email address for you.

If we hold an email address for you

  • If we hold an email address for you on our records, a registration link to finish the sign-up process will be sent to that email address.
  • You will be asked to confirm that the email we hold is correct. If so, click 'Send registration link' to continue.

Note: if the email is incorrect or you no longer have access to it, you can request an activation code be sent to your home address.

  • An email with the registration link will be sent to the email address we hold. Please note that the link is single use.
  • After clicking the registration link, you will be prompted to create a new password. This must include:
  • 1 number
  • 1 uppercase letter
  • 1 lowercase letter
  • 1 special character (e.g. + = $ % ^ & !)
  • Once you have confirmed your new password, select "Submit" to continue.
  • You will then be automatically logged in.

If we do not hold an email address for you

  • If we do not hold an email address for you, an activation code will be posted to your home address. Click "Send Code" to request it.

Note: check that the last three characters of the postcode displayed are correct. If not, please contact us to update your address before continuing.

  • Once you have received the code, follow the steps below to activate your account.

I have received an activation code

  • Go to the My Pension Portal home page.
  • Select the first option - Access my pension portal.
  • Click on the "Create an account" button.
  • Select the "I have an activation code" button after accepting the privacy notice.
  • Complete the registration form with your details and activation code, then click 'Submit'.

Please note: the activation code is case-sensitive. Enter it exactly as shown in your letter.

  • Provide an email address to associate with your account, then select ‘Confirm email’.
  • You will then be prompted to create a new password. This must include:
  • 1 number
  • 1 uppercase letter
  • 1 lowercase letter
  • 1 special character (e.g. + = $ % ^ & !)
  • After confirming your password, select "Submit".
  • A One Time Code will be sent to your email.
  • Enter the 6-digit code and click 'Continue'.
  • You will then be automatically logged in.

Logging in

  • Go to the My Pension Portal home page.
  • Select the first option - Access my pension portal.
  • Enter your email address and password, then select "Submit".
  • A One Time Code will be sent to your email.
  • Enter the 6-digit code and click "Submit".

Note: you can tick the box to skip the code requirement for 7 days.

  • You will now be logged in.

Forgotten Password / Password Reset

  • Go to the My Pension Portal home page.
  • Select the first option - Access my pension portal.
  • Select the "Forgotten your password?" link.
  • Enter your registered email and click ‘Send’.
  • Follow the instructions sent to your email.
  • Your reset code is valid for 24 hours.
  • Enter the 6-digit code and click "Continue".
  • Create a new password and select "Submit".

Note: your password must include:

  • 1 number
  • 1 uppercase letter
  • 1 lowercase letter
  • 1 special character (e.g. + = $ % ^ & !)
  • You will then be logged in.
