What's a life certificate and why might I receive one?

From time-to-time we need to check that you are still alive and well and receiving payment of the pension you are entitled to. This is entirely routine, and we do it by sending most of our retired members a form to sign called a life certificate.

So, there's really nothing to worry about if you get one of these in the post, but we do need you to fill it in and send it back to us as soon as you can. We have to send life certificates because it’s one of our audit requirements, and because we have a 'duty of care' to protect our members' money and guard against fraud.

Failure to complete and return your life certificate, may result in the suspension of your pension.
